Following the administration of the four-millionth first dose of the vaccine, the rules regarding accommodation and catering establishments will also offer more benefits, as the following persons may travel to Hungary without a quarantine obligation:

Hungarian citizens who, upon crossing the border, verify their protection against the coronavirus by presenting the immunity certificate and the document serving as proof of identity indicated thereon, and
persons arriving from a state whose immunity certificate is recognised by Hungary, the fact of which is declared in a decree issued by the Minister for Foreign Affairs in agreement with the Minister for Border Control, and who verify their protection against the coronavirus by presenting the immunity certificate against the coronavirus issued to them. In the course of the verification of protection against the coronavirus, this person may also be required to present the document serving as proof of identity, or their travel document.
Hungary agrees with Turkey, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Republic of North Macedonia and Bahrein to mutually recognize immunity certificates.

On the basis of reciprocity, holders of a mutually recognised immunity certificate may enter Hungary without quarantine.
Immunity card
Rights bound to immunity may be exercised with an immunity card. To verify proof of immunity, the person wishing to make use of the benefit may be ordered to present his/her immunity card, and personal ID card or passport.

The immunity card may not be substituted with a vaccination certificate or discharge summary.

Curfew
The curfew is in effect between midnight and 5 a.m.. During this time everybody is required to stay at their place of residence, place of stay or accommodation establishment.

Sporting events and cultural events
Persons immune to the coronavirus and persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision may attend sporting events and cultural events bound to an entrance ticket if such event is scheduled to finish no later than 11 p.m.

If complying with the above rules, viewers at the event are not required to wear masks.

Music, dance events
It is prohibited to organise or hold music or dance events, or to stay at dance event locations.

Catering establishments
Guests not possessing an immunity card may stay in the garden or terrace of the catering establishment between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m., they may consume beverages and are not required to wear masks.

Persons not possessing an immunity card may stay in the indoor areas of the catering establishment only for the delivery and pick-up of takeaway food, the use of the establishment’s toilets, or – if this is not possible in the garden or on the terrace – to pay for consumption, for the necessary time. In such cases the wearing of masks is required.

Guests who can prove their immunity to the coronavirus and persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision may not only stay on the terraces of catering establishments, but also in their indoor areas, and may consume ordered beverages and food in such indoor areas. Such guests are not required to wear masks if seated at a table, or if the consumption of food and beverages purchased at the catering establishment is possible not only by being seated at a table, only for the duration of consuming food and beverages.

The operator or manager of the catering establishment, or the employee of such operator or manager shall deny consumption of ordered food and beverages in the indoor area of the catering establishment to persons not providing proof of immunity to the coronavirus or persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision.

The operator or manager of the catering establishment, or the employee of such operator or manager shall order persons denying presentation of proof of immunity to the coronavirus or persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision to leave. If such unlawfully behaving persons fail to satisfy such order, the operator, manager or employee shall call the police.

The above restrictions are not applicable to workplace restaurants or bars, restaurants and bars of accommodation establishments, if only their guests are being served, the canteens and bars of educational institutions, if only employees and students of educational institutions are being served, or to restaurants and bars operated at health institutions.

Music or dance events may not be organized or held at catering establishments.

Family and private events may be organized and held if there are not more than ten simultaneously present persons.

Accommodation establishments
The restrictions apply to all accommodation establishments, regardless of their category or form of operation.

During the period of restrictions, only the following guests may be accommodated at the accommodation establishment:

persons providing proof of immunity to the coronavirus and persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision;
guests present for business, economic, educational purposes;
guests wishing to stay as members of the Hungarian Armed Forces or law enforcement authorities, or as health workers, for the purpose of official service.
Guests are not required to wear masks at the accommodation establishment.

Music or dance events may not be organized or held at catering establishments.

Family and private events may be organized and held at accommodation establishments if there are not more than ten simultaneously present persons.

Regulations in force do not restrict staying guests in staying in the restaurants and bars of accommodation establishments, and in consuming food and beverages there.

Recreational accommodation establishments
Recreational facilities operated by accommodation establishments may be visited by persons staying at the accommodation establishment, providing proof of immunity to the coronavirus and persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision.

If the recreational facilities are not located in the area of an accommodation establishment, or are located there but these are used not as part of accommodation services, these may be visited only by persons with immunity to the coronavirus and persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision, with the exception of training and fitness gyms, swimming pools and ice rinks.

Ice rinks, swimming pools, training and fitness gyms, and sports facilities located not at the accommodation establishment, or located there but used not for accommodation purposes, may only be visited by the following persons:

competitive athletes under the age of eighteen and their training sports personnel for the purpose of training or participation in sporting events
persons immune to the coronavirus
competitive athletes over the age of eighteen and their training sports personnel for the purpose of participation at or preparation for sporting events within the meaning of the Sports Act.
At recreational facilities, with the exception of training and fitness gyms, swimming pools and ice rinks, persons with immunity to the coronavirus and persons under the age of eighteen under their supervision are not required to wear masks. In training and fitness gyms, swimming pools and ice rinks, and in sports facilities, persons with immunity to the coronavirus, and within the meaning of the Sports Act, competitive athletes under the age of eighteen and over the age of eighteen, and their training sports personnel are not required to wear masks.

Casinos, card rooms
In addition to employees, only guests with and presenting appropriate proof of immunity to the virus may stay in casinos and card rooms.

Persons who do not present appropriate proof of their immunity shall be prevented from using the casino or card room by the operator or manager of the casino or card room, or the employee of such operator or manager, and shall deny entry to such persons.

The guests of casinos and card rooms presenting proof of immunity may not be required to wear a mask, but may wear one out of personal consideration.
